Canadian Brand & Strategy Studio

We're here to ask the necessary (and sometimes difficult) questions to develop meaningful direction, for brands and products that clearly communicate their value and impact.

Body of Work

/ˈprɒs·pər/ v. to flourish; to succeed before the crash, not after it.

Your body knows before you do.

A burnout-risk tracker that analyzes a user’s mood and behaviours to assess burnout risk. Our focus leaned on a brand that highlighted the outcome rather than the task, with a brand identity that’s neutral, modern and clean so the app is approachable.

Finale: Simple, Clean, Aspirational.

Px derived from Rx, universally recognized as prescription; stylized as Px for Patients.

Clinics buy evidence, not enthusiasm (and it needs to save time and increase revenue)

A physiotherapy assessment platform that captures pre-injury baselines and tracks objective recovery milestones during treatment.

The identity had to work in two rooms at once: credible in a clinic, legible to a patient. We developed the brand around the notion of gradual improvement, inspiring and uplifting colours, without the overly aggressive performance focus of a training app.

Our work included the wordmark, typeface, and colour system that equally balances clinician and patient focus.

Neuro a reference to neurology, for an app focused on brain injury recovery.

A companion, not a doctor (most health apps don’t differentiate)

A concussion recovery tracker built on the SCAT6 protocol. The name had to survive two readings, a patient’s and a physician’s, and the position had to state plainly what the product refuses to be: not a diagnosis, not a doctor, not a replacement for care.

The identity we developed for Neuro focused on the delicate recovery process of a brain injury. Familiar colours from a medical environment (a mix of teal and sage; think hospital scrubs), along with clean fonts to reduce cognitive load while reading and logging symptoms.

Our work included the name, wordmark, typeface, and colour system that equally balances recovery support and integrity.

What We Do

Four kinds of work, usually in this order. Most projects need two of them; almost none need all four, and we will tell you which ones you can skip.

Naming
Generating, screening and defending names: for a company, a product, or the thing inside the product nobody has agreed on yet.
Positioning
Deciding what a brand is for, who it is for, and what it refuses to be. Usually the uncomfortable part.
Identity & Branding
The wordmark, type, colour and system that carry the position without having to explain it.
Brand Strategy
The argument underneath the other three, written down plainly enough that a team can act on it without us in the room.

How We Work

Most brand problems are not design problems. They're inconsistent stories: who the thing is for, what pain does it solve, and why is that important? We start there, because a story isn't worth telling without a beginning, middle, and end.

Engagements are small and focused. You work with the people doing the work. We listen, we translate, and we help you connect all the dots.

We say no to work we can't conquer. That's the most sincere message a studio can deliver. The Truth!

The Studio

Definitiiv is a Canadian brand and strategy studio, established in 2024. We work with early-stage founders defining and framing something new, and established businesses rebranding or repositioning something that's drifted over time.

Before Definitiiv, the creative work ran at national scale: Rogers, Intact, and Bell Canada. That experience now sits across the table from you.
